In July our recruiting team attended the inaugural CVM career fair at the University of Arizona in Tucson. With the first graduating class preparing to graduate in the summer of 2023, we were very excited to get to Tucson and talk to the more than 100 young professionals who will be joining our industry. It is always exciting when we can tell the AZPetVet story to new a group students who are eager to listen and learn. The addition of the UofA veterinary program means a lot, not only to the students, but to the veterinary community in Arizona. The first graduating class will have an immediate impact on the ability of our local clinics to see more patients in our community.
In addition, we are excited to have our first class of externs from the university at our own hospitals later this year. They will be spending a few weeks at our North Buckeye, Madison, White Tanks, and Roadrunner locations. Nothing is more exciting than seeing the passion for veterinary medicine through fresh eyes! We are looking forward to continuing to cultivate these great relationships with students in our state.
