AZPetVet Gives Back

Azpetvet Donations

When the animal-loving community comes together, we all win. In early December, AZPetVet began collecting donations for a holiday food drive that would benefit two separate organizations; The Lovepup Foundation, and GrandPaw’s Pantry. We were blown away by the record-setting number of donations that we received at our 21 hospitals across the valley.

It has been a difficult two years for all of us, but especially for our rescue partners and the non-profits who rely on donations to help the animals who need it most in our community. In total, AzPetVet received 6,852 pounds of bagged dry food, and 5,545 cans of wet food to be distributed to our non-profit drive partners. On February 4th, our team was able to deliver all the donations in a day full of giving!

The morning began at 9:00 AM when AZPetVet team members began loading bags of food into a U-Haul, our company van, and even our employee’s personal trucks due to the overflow of donations! We then proceeded to LovePup Foundation for our first stop of the day. Alongside LovePup founders Johnjay and Blake Van Es, we unloaded 5,251 pounds of dry dog food that will be used to feed their shelter pups who are waiting to be adopted and join their new families. In addition to the food donations, AZPetVet was able to donate an additional $6,300 on top of our $50,000 annual medical grant to ensure that LovePup is successful in safely rehoming as many dogs as possible in the greater Phoenix Metro Region. If you are interested in donating to LovePup, or adopting any of their available dogs, please visit https://www.lovepupfoundation.org/.

After a short lunch break, our team began re-filling the now empty trucks in preparation to head to GrandPaw’s Pantry. Founded 5 years ago by, then 10-year-old, Sonya, GrandPaw’s Pantry is committed to funding the Senior Companion Pet Care Program, and helping Senior citizens live happily with their companion pets. Thanks to our generous donors we were able to provide Sonya and GrandPaw’s Pantry with 5,454 cans of Dog & Cat food, beds, treats, and a check for $2,900 to aid in the non-profit’s mission. The donated food will be able to feed an amazing number of pets for a full year. If you would like to learn more or donate to GrandPaw’s Pantry, please visit https://www.grandpawspantry.org.

As an organization and family, AZPetVet is honored to assist these as well as other local non-profits in achieving their goals and strengthening our community. Being able to give back to the neighborhoods that have supported us for 38 years is incredibly rewarding, and a big part of why we do what we do.
