AZPetVet Gives Back

When the animal-loving community comes together, we all win!

AZPetVet Partnerships

Throughout the year, AZPetVet partners with a variety of organizations throughout the valley focusing on the health and wellbeing of pets in our community and the human-animal bond. Check out some of our partnerships below.

As a home-grown business founded right here in Glendale, AZ, it is incredibly important to the AZPetVet partners that we find opportunities to give back in our local communities. With our shared core values and belief in the importance of the human-animal bond, the partnership is a wonderful alignment between AZPetVet and LovePup rooted in kindness and compassion. Our family of hospitals came together and created a significant medical grant for the LovePup Foundation. The grant provides the funding for veterinary services that the organization needs to help ensure all the rescued pups have what they need before being placed with their new family; a medical evaluation to ensure any health concerns are addressed, up-to-date vaccines, and spay/neuter to help control the pet population.

In early 2018, we had the opportunity to sit down and create a partnership with a organization that was started right here in the valley – just like us. Founded by Johnjay and Blake Van Es, the LovePup Foundation’s primary mission is to provide rescue dogs the best possible home.

What started out as a simple gesture to rescue a pup in need quickly grew into an incredible undertaking. With thee boys and six dogs of their own, the Van Es family began taking rescue dogs into their home at quite the pace. At one point, they had more than 20 pups in the home; all treated equally with love and compassion. From walks with the boys to playtime in the yard, the dogs receive plenty of TLC – including napping with the Van Es boys, and hanging out on the sofa watching Netflix.

With so many dogs in need, Blake and Johnjay realized that they were definitely going to need some support to keep it growing. They created a foundation to help guide the growth and fill the need; The LovePup Foundation (a naming tribute to the LoveUp movement created by JohnJay and his on-air radio show partner, Rich Berra.) That’s where AZPetVet steps in…

Over the past 18 years, Gabriel’s Angels has brought innovative Pet Therapy to Arizona’s at-risk kids. Pet Therapy helps increase the overall sense of well-being and happiness for children in a safe environment. It helps to build critical core behaviors like trust, empathy, respect, tolerance, and self-esteem.

In 2021, AZPetVet partnered with Gabriel’s Angels and sponsored a donation power hour: We agreed to match any donations made between 4 & 5PM up to a total of $2,500. During our power hour, community members donated $3,585.20 – maxing out our contribution!

With the combined give, the funds raised will nearly sponsor two new pet therapy teams within Gabriel’s Angels! Each therapy team impacts an average of 80-100 children each year. We are proud to support the mission of Gabriel’s Angels as we all know the positive impact pets can have!

Grandpaws Pantry is a nonprofit founded by a delightful youngster named Sonya, who’s also the enthusiastic owner of several rescue pets. In her words,

“I want to encourage people to open their hearts and their homes and consider rescue pet adoption. I also want to be an animal advocate for the many dogs and cats and other animals in desperate need.”

AZPetVet is proud to be partnering with Saint Vincent de Paul (SVdP) as they work to harness the power of community and partnerships to feed, clothe, house and heal individuals and families in our community. Specifically, we work together on SVdP’s Companion Animal Program which has a mission of keeping pet owners safe, together, and sheltered with their pets. The program helps provide pet owners access to wellness check-ups, vaccines, microchipping, licensure, food & supplies, and much more.

Since the program’s inception in 2021, the Companion Animal program has served over 250 pets with medical needs and has seen more than 300 pets spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and licensed through local partnerships!

In 2022, in honor of Turkey Tuesday, the team at AZPetVet partnered with St. Vincent de Paul to collect donations for pet owners in need. By placing donation boxes at each of our 22 locations across the valley, we were able to collect 3,420 pounds of pet food and 1,997 pet supply items through the generous donations of those in our community!

We are excited to continue to grow this partnership, as it is a great opportunity to give back to the community that we are so proud to call home.
